MOD LEAGUE U12

What is mod league for age U12?

Junior League is a great way for young boys and girls to stay fit and healthy while having a ball along the way. For our U12s, it’s all about being a part of the team, half-time oranges and most importantly having fun!

U12's have their own special rules and the elimination of scrums. There are 13 players per team on the field at a time to ensure plenty of smiles and that everyone gets their turn with the ball.

The essential info:

  • 2 x 20 minute halves

  • 6 tackles in a set.

  • Pass twice in every play.

  • Dummy Half wears a Pink Vest and First Receiver wears a Yellow Vest. Both players can run the ball, be tackled and not turnover the ball to the opposing team.

  • Goal conversion kicks.

  • Kicking is allowed in play but no bombs allowed.

Grand final series is applicable for U12's and is played at historic North Sydney Oval.

Boys and girls play in the same teams, usually until the age of 12, that way everyone can play with their friends.

Keeping it safe

All coaches and trainers must be fully accredited to coach a team and undergo a professional course prior to the season starting.

We also adhere to the SafePlay Code to ensure we create the best possible on-field environment for our young players. It applies to all age groups up to Under 15's.

More details:

Games are played on Saturday mornings and the season runs from first Saturday in April to first weekend in September.

We have 8 junior league clubs in our district and games are played at varying venues from North Sydney to Berowra.

All players must wear a mouth-guard and rugby boots. Head gear is optional.

All players receive in their registration pack a playing jersey, shorts and socks. Plus includes player insurance and PlayNRL Rewards which entitles the player, coach and all registered volunteers to 1 FREE ticket to every round of the Telstra NRL Premiership.
