WHAT IS MINI RUGBY LEAGUE?
Junior League is a great way for young boys and girls to stay fit and healthy while having a ball along the way. For our U6s and U7s, it’s all about being a part of the team, half-time oranges and most importantly having fun!
Mini Footy has their own special rules such as the 'Chance Rule' along with having just 6 players per team on the field at a time to ensure plenty of smiles and that everyone gets their turn with the ball. The game is quite structured with an attack and defense line which means ALL players are involved in the game and take their turn at running with the ball.
Boys and girls play in the same teams, usually until the age of 12, that way everyone can play with their friends.
KEEPING IT SAFE
All coaches and trainers must be fully accredited to coach a team and undergo a professional course prior to the season starting.
Coaches remain on the field with their team in U6 and U7's.
We also adhere to the SafePlay Code to ensure we create the best possible on-field environment for our young players. It applies to all age groups up to Under 15's.
MORE INFORMATION
Games are played on Saturday mornings and the season runs from April to September.
We have 8 junior league clubs in our district and games are played at varying venues from North Sydney to Berowra.
All players must wear a mouth-guard and rugby boots. Head gear is optional.
All players receive in their registration pack a playing jersey, shorts and socks. Plus includes player insurance and PlayNRL Rewards, such as tickets to the NRL!
